My sister Anne Tiernan is a novelist and I am not…..but I know it would feel good to be able to come up with a book that made people laugh.
So let’s try. Let’s try and write a very funny book….. I’ll put bits and pieces of it here to see what ye think…. Onwards and sideways as they say. I have the shed. I have the Tyvense. I have the time.
The greatest writing advice I ever got was from my father although he didn’t mean it as advice. I’d been commissioned to write a novel and when I told him that I’d started writing it he said
‘Have you finished the reviews yet?’
So that’s where we’ll start .Rather than start at the end and wonder how I might begin, I’ll start with the reviews and try to figure out what I did….
